DURAND, Ill. (WTVO) — Hoo Haven, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to wildlife rehabilitation and education, has taken in a rare rescue, caring for a baby badger.
“It was exciting. You know, when you get something that you’ve never had before,” shared Hoo Haven director Karen Herdklotz.
According to Herdklotz, the badger is four to five weeks old. She explained that a couple found the badger on the road on Wednesday. They pulled over and moved it out of harm’s way. On their way home, the badger was still there. They made the call to Hoo Haven, and the badger was rescued the following day…
