Castle Hills police chief resigns six months into the job, interim chief appointed

The Castle Hills chief of police has resigned and an interim chief has been appointed amid an investigation into a deadly officer-involved shooting in the North Side municipality.

Former Chief Gary McHone submitted his resignation effective Thursday. Capt. Jose Davila has stepped in as interim chief, city leaders said Friday.

“The city thanks Chief McHone for his efforts with the Castle Hills Police Department and the community,” City Manager Chris Duque said in a statement. “We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”…
