3 charged in alleged quid pro quo scheme that bilked Albany company of $80K

COLONIE — Three men have been charged in connection with an alleged quid pro quo scheme that involved one man redirecting thousands of dollars in payments owed to his employer in exchange for steering business to a vendor the two others worked for.

Vincent Gallo, 65, who at the time worked for Albany-based HVAC company Competitive Advantage Group, is accused of orchestrating the scheme with John Alexander, 65, and George Bedian, 70 — two members of the HVAC equipment vendor Capital Winair, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.

Gallo was arrested Monday and charged with second- and third-degree grand larceny, first-degree commercial bribe receiving, first-degree falsifying business records and fourth-degree conspiracy, all felonies, as well as second-degree scheme to defraud, a misdemeanor…
