WELLINGTON, Fla. (CBS12) — A Wellington serial squatter with 26 evictions is behind bars after deputies say she used fake names and forged bank records to live in luxury homes for free.
Detectives with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office say 53-year-old Turia Pilar Grantlin’s method was to move into luxury homes and then use the legal system to stall evictions as long as possible while never paying rent.
According to the criminal probable cause affidavit, she targeted a $740,000 4-bedroom home on Meadow Wood Drive in May 2025. To get the keys, she allegedly sent the owner’s daughter screenshots of bank accounts showing a balance of more than $23,000…
