A Friday night visit to C.W. Thomas Park in Dania Beach ended in deadly violence when a man was shot and later died at the hospital, authorities said.
Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office responded around 9:15 p.m. to reports of a shooting at the park near the 800 block of Northwest Second Street. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
What investigators say
Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Crime Scene units stayed at the park late into the night, processing evidence and trying to piece together what happened, according to Local 10.
