PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The M.A.N. (Men Alleviating Negativity) Foundation and Portsmouth Sheriff’s Office partnered to host a Family Reunification Carnival on Saturday at the Portsmouth City Jail.
This special event was part of Portsmouth’s Peace Week and reflects a shared commitment to restoring hope for returning citizens, strengthening families, and reducing recidivism and the school-to-prison pipeline, officials said. The carnival provided incarcerated men with a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with their families through an afternoon centered on celebration, healing, and joy.
