Indio shooting leaves one injured as suspect remains at large; Palm Desert burglary arrest recovers stolen bikes and weapons

Deputies are investigating a shooting in Indio that left one person injured and a suspect still on the run.According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened around 7:20 a.m. near Van Buren Street and Corregidor Avenue. When deputies arrived on scene, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.As a precaution, a nearby school was placed on temporary lockdown while deputies searched the surrounding area for the suspect. Authorities say no arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.In a separate case, a burglary investigation in Palm Desert has led to an arrest and the recovery of stolen property.Deputies say a suspect accused of stealing high-value bicycles in December was taken into custody earlier this week.
