Dad sentenced after 6 children found locked in ‘putrid’ storage unit with urine bucket

MILWAUKEE (TNND) — A Wisconsin man whose six children were found locked inside a storage unit and forced to use a bucket as a toilet for more than a month was reportedly sentenced to five years in prison.

Charles Dupriest was sentenced on Thursday to five years behind bars, as well as five years of extended supervision, after a jury in convicted him of the following charges:

  • Five felony counts of child neglect
  • Three misdemeanor counts of child neglect
  • One count of possession of a firearm by a felon

“My absence has affected them, and me being absent from them further would continue to affect them negatively,” Dupriest said at his sentencing hearing, WISN 12 reported.
