DEP highlights effort to restore clean drinking water to Lancaster Co. community

INTERCOURSE, Pa. (WHTM) — State officials were in Lancaster County on Friday afternoon highlighting an effort to restore safe drinking water there.

The Intercourse area of Leacock Township, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection said, had contaminated well water, which was discovered about two decades ago.

DEP, through the Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act program, spent $22 million to develop a public water system for the area. That system came on-line in 2020, DEP said…
