Lewisburg, Pa. — A 40-year-old man who was on house arrest in Union County allegedly broke the ankle monitor and fled to Alabama.
Terry J. Johnson Jr. was apprehended by law enforcement in Alabama after he was found there on Jan. 19. Johnson had been on the run since Sept. 23, when Union County Adult Probation discovered the ankle monitor had been removed, according to the affidavit. Johnson had been sentenced last fall to two years probation and three months of house arrest for a misdemeanor simple assault charge.
Authorities used a GPS to locate the electronic monitoring system, which was found on Route 522 near Selinsgrove. The ankle monitor was damaged to the point that it had to be sent back to the manufacturer. Officials were not able to find the charging cord…
