CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Track & Field set two new school record while registering 20 provisional marks on Thursday and Friday during the annual Jo Meaker Classic at Multi at the WTAMU Track & Field Complex in Canyon.
Deborah Acheampong broke her own school record in the women’s 100m finals with a time of 11.21, the fastest time so far this season in Division II while the Ghana product also ran a 23.05 in the 200m for the second-best mark in school history.
Blessing Akintoye continued her impressive campaign, winning the 200m and setting a new school record with a mark of 22.95 to tie the 15th fastest time in NCAA Division II outdoor history.
