Tornado Watch in effect for parts of Nebraska until 11 PM

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Tornado Watch is in effect until 11 p.m. Saturday for parts of central, southern and eastern Nebraska, though the Lincoln and Lancaster County area is not included in the watch. The watch does cover areas just south and west of the Capital City.

All severe weather hazards are possible this evening, including damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes. While widespread storm coverage is not expected, a few storms could turn severe rather quickly, so it’s important to stay weather aware and monitor conditions closely.

Sunday & Monday: Lower Severe Risk

The severe weather threat decreases Sunday and Monday, with risks covering a smaller area. However, isolated severe storms remain possible in eastern Nebraska, with damaging winds, large hail and an isolated tornado still on the table.

Tuesday: Next Best Chance for Severe Storms

Scattered severe storms are possible Tuesday, primarily in southeastern Nebraska. This will be the next window where severe weather becomes more likely.
