NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTAL/KMSS) – On Friday, April 10, the Arkansas Department of Public Safety held a topping‑out ceremony as the final structural beam was placed for the new Arkansas State Crime Laboratory (ASCL).
The state‑of‑the‑art facility in North Little Rock will significantly expand Arkansas’ forensic science capacity, according to the Department of Public Safety.

They say it will provide modern technology, increased laboratory space, and enhanced service capabilities for the state’s criminal justice system and communities across Arkansas.
“Forensic science is at the heart of accurate, timely, and fair criminal investigations,” said DPS Secretary Mike Hagar.
“By building a modern laboratory equipped for today’s challenges and tomorrow’s demands, Arkansas is strengthening its commitment to justice and ensuring our law enforcement professionals have the scientific support they need.”
