Lubbock group invites all to celebrate Board Game Day

LUBBOCK, Texas — National Board Game Day is on Saturday, April 11, and a Lubbock group called Board Game Bonanza is inviting people of all ages to come celebrate at 10 a.m. at Market Street, located on 19th and Quaker, until 10 p.m.

The founder of Board Game Bonanza Lubbock Group, Ben Gariepy, wants to encourage people to take a break from technology and indulge in the nostalgia of board games. “I wanted to create a group of people who can share their passion, memories and love for board games.”

“I believe board games create social skills and empathy within others in a way other things can not; I think that is what makes board games special to and have a unique place in people’s hearts,” Ben explained. “I just want to encourage people to take a seat, take a break and have fun.”
