This parish to host Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off for the first time this summer

KENNER, La. (WGNO) — For the very first time, the 19th annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off (LASCO) will be held in Jefferson Parish, Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board announced Tuesday.

The state’s most talented, culinary-gifted chefs will come together on Friday, June 26, to showcase the versatility and unique flavor of Louisiana seafood while also competing to earn the title of King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood.

“Louisiana seafood is the heart and soul of our state’s culinary identity, and Jefferson Parish is a great place to celebrate, a community with deep ties to our fishing industry and coastal heritage,” Nungesser said.

Additionally, the winner will have the opportunity to represent the state at several events, such as the Great American Seafood Cook-Off, which will be held on Saturday, July 25, at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans…
