Officials: Crews search after man reportedly fell from dock into Lake Murray, didn’t resurface

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities are investigating after a man reportedly fell from a dock into Lake Murray on Saturday and didn’t resurface.

The Irmo Fire District confirmed to News19 that its teams were called to the 2100 block of North Lake Drive around 9 p.m., the Irmo side of the Lake Murray dam, after someone fell in. Officials said the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department dive team took charge when fire crews and swimmers were unable to locate the person.

The sheriff’s department deferred to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) for additional information. News19 has contacted the agency but has not yet received a response…
