Deputies: Man facing felony charges after attack near Paw Paw

ALMENA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD)  — A 31-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after assaulting a man, damaging property and resisting police over a two-day span near Paw Paw.

According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a home off of M-43 for a reported assault at around 9:15 p.m. April 9.

When they arrived, they discovered that a 30-year-old man was hit with a “blunt object” and sprayed with bear repellent, according to the sheriff’s office. The man told authorities he was able to escape the scene and contact law enforcement. He identified a 31-year-old man from Paw Paw as the suspect…
