CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – U Ask, UVA Answers hosted its final session of the spring Sunday, April 12. The topic was HIV and how to make its treatments more accessible for people that need them.
“I think people can think that HIV is over in the United States when there’s 1.2 million people living with HIV in the U.S. and every year about 40,000 people are diagnosed with HIV,” said Dr. Kathleen McManus, an associate professor and researcher at UVA’s School of Medicin. “So it’s really a problem that we still need to be paying attention to.”
