Hundreds of runners flooded Washington Park in Over-the-Rhine on Saturday for the Flying Pig’s final long-run dress rehearsal, the local “20:12” celebration. With Flying Pig Marathon weekend now just weeks away, the organized 20-mile and 12-mile waves gave marathoners and half-marathoners one last extended effort on portions of the official course. For many, it doubled as a mental tune-up and a low-key fundraiser, with local nonprofits staffing the aid stations along the way.
20:12 Long Runs Serve As A Dress Rehearsal
The Fleet Feet-hosted celebration laid out marked and supported 3-, 6-, 12- and 20-mile routes that trace key stretches of the race and wrap up with a neighborhood party in Washington Park. The event page notes on-course aid stations and pacing waves for the 12- and 20-mile starts, plus small donations collected for partner charities, per Fleet Feet Cincy.
