ShotSpotter Siren Brings Cops Rushing To Vine Street In OTR

Cincinnati police flooded the 1700 block of Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine late Friday night after a ShotSpotter alert triggered just before midnight, prompting officers to wrap the area in crime-scene tape. Crews shut down intersections around Green and Vine as investigators worked into the early hours. Authorities had not yet confirmed whether anyone was hurt.

ShotSpotter Call Draws Large CPD Response

According to WLWT, police scanner traffic showed officers being dispatched to the 1700 block of Vine after the ShotSpotter notification, and station cameras captured a heavy police presence and streets marked off with tape. The late-night response is the latest in a run of shootings along Vine Street this spring. On March 23, officers were called to a ShotSpotter activation in the 1600 block, and a victim with a gunshot wound to the head walked into Firehouse 29 before being taken to UC Medical Center, according to WCPO.
