A Fayetteville, Georgia, man died Thursday in a Columbus hospital two days after being critically injured when he was hit by an SUV while on a scooter in Lee County, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency announced Saturday.
The crash occurred at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Route 29 near the 199-mile marker, approximately four miles northeast of Opelika, according to the ALEA.
Bryan J. Pesotski, 38, was in the roadway and stationary on a scooter when he was struck by a 2021 Jeep Cherokee, the news release says. He was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional’s midtown hospital, where he was pronounced dead Thursday, ALEA said….
