Saturday night’s alright for rain… and Sunday should be for thunderstorms

If you were looking for a nice day to hit Big Hat Days in Clovis, Saturday may have been your best bet – we enjoyed partly cloudy skies, dry weather, and temperatures in the 70’s. Sunday will be much different – scattered showers and thunderstorms, and highs only in the 60’s. You might need a big rain jacket for Big Hat Days!

High temperatures were close to perfection on Saturday: Madera hit 73, Fresno warmed to 74, while Merced and Visalia touched 75, all under partly cloudy skies. But rain swept in Saturday night and soaked us nicely. Over 1/10″ of rain fell in Fresno between Midnight and 1 a.m. Our weather will remain unsettled on Sunday, with scattered showers and thunderstorms – models are trying to really hit Fresno with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening, so keep your umbrella nearby!

The rain will dry up Sunday night, and Monday will bring partly to mostly sunny skies with somewhat warmer temperatures. Highs will warm back to near 70 on Monday, after a day of soggy 60’s on Sunday…
