Over 100-year-old water main, lead pipes to be replaced in Fort Wayne’s south side

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Crews are set to begin replacing an over 100-year-old water main in the south side of Fort Wayne.

Starting Monday, April 13, parking will not be allowed on South Anthony Boulevard between East Pontiac and Oxford Streets. There will also be lane restrictions going in both directions, but one lane will be open on either side.

On Monday, crews with City Utilities will begin replacing a 12-inch water main, which was originally installed in 1919. After the work is completed, crews will move on to upgrading service lines to connect nearby homes to the new system…
