Steelton Mayor launches ‘Stop That’ initiative amid rise in violent incidents

STEELTON, Pa. (WHTM) — Steelton Mayor Ciera Dent announced a new anti-violence initiative amid the borough’s recent rise in violent incidents.

Mayor Dent says the initiative, dubbed “Stop That,” aims to promote direct engagement with residents through neighborhood-based outreach, door-to-door conversations, resource distribution, and community presence in affected areas.

“This is about being present, listening to our community, and responding with intention,” said Mayor Dent. “We want our residents to know that we hear their concerns and are taking meaningful steps to ensure safety and stability in our neighborhoods.”
