Crash spills chicken wings across I-65 in Limestone County

It wasn’t your typical traffic delay on I-65 last week, as a crash in Limestone County left crews cleaning up a highway covered in spicy chicken wings.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), the crash occurred near mile marker 358 outside Athens, where spilled cargo prompted lane closures, while subsequent reporting from WAFF 48 confirmed the roadway has since been cleared and all lanes reopened with traffic returning to normal.

Officials said one of the trucks was carrying spicy chicken wings, which spilled across the southbound lanes and contributed to the extended cleanup effort…
