Salem pitching falters in 6-3 Ridgeyaks loss to Wilson

SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) – Despite allowing just 4 hits on Saturday, wild pitching and missed offensive opportunities doomed the Salem Ridgeyaks in a 6-3 loss to the Wilson Warbirds at Carilion Clinic Field.

Salem (6-2) struck out 11 batters on the mound, but also allowed 11 walks. Christian Foutch (L, 0-1, 3.38 ERA) struggled out of the bullpen. Despite not allowing a hit over 2.1 innings, Foutch allowed three runs (one unearned), and walked 5 batters.

Wilson (3-5) took advantage in the third, scoring on a bases loaded walk, and a ground out. In the 5th inning, Handelfry Encarnacion scored an RBI double, plating Brady Ebel, while Jose Anderson send Encarnacion home on a subsequent RBI double to make it 4-0 in the 5th…
