TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Bringing the community together for a cause is exactly what one local church did Sunday afternoon, helping to put together 1,000 lunches for people experiencing homelessness in the area.
Grey Memorial United Methodist Church in Tallahassee teamed up with the Big Bend Continuum of Care to make it happen. About 50 people from across the community came out to help, packing shelf-stable lunches that can last for weeks.
The meals include items like tuna salad packets, snacks such as Rice Krispies and peanuts, and water. Church staff says it’s a simple way to support those who need it most…
