Arkansas wide receiver Jalen Brown arrested in Farmington

FARMINGTON, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Arkansas wide receiver Jalen Brown was arrested Friday morning in Farmington on a charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution, according to jail records.

Brown, 21, was booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 11:11 a.m. and released later that evening at 9:22 p.m. after posting a $560 bond.

Under Arkansas law, a person can be accused of hindering apprehension or prosecution if they are alleged to have intentionally helped someone avoid arrest or investigation, such as by lying to police, hiding a person, or destroying evidence. The charge can range from a misdemeanor to a felony depending on the underlying offense.

Competition abounds at Arkansas for wide receivers

Brown started his collegiate career at LSU before transferring to Florida State, where he played in nine games with two starts in 2024, recording eight receptions for 75 yards and a 19-yard kickoff return against Notre Dame. He was dismissed from Florida State in spring 2025 following an arrest for possession of a controlled substance, according to On3, then transferred to Arkansas in May 2025.
