A Lithium-Ion battery is the possible cause of a New Lenox garage fire Friday morning. The New Lenox Fire Protection District (NLFPD) successfully extinguished a structure fire in the 800 block of Somerset Court on Friday, preventing the blaze from spreading
into the main living area of the residence and ensuring a safe outcome for all occupants.
The NLFPD was dispatched at 11:46 a.m. for a reported structure fire. The first arriving engine company reached the scene in five minutes and reported a working fire within the attached garage.
