Hummingbirds — those neurotic, nectar-loving jewels that brighten up backyards — have arrived in the Fort Collins area a couple of weeks ahead of schedule, coaxed by Colorado’s warm spring.
Broad-tailed hummingbirds began arriving in Fort Collins-area yards at the end of March, according to reports on Hummingbird Central, which tracks such reports with an interactive map.
