RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – This winter storm has packed quite a punch with multiple feet of snow falling in the Sierra creating treacherous travel conditions over mountain passes. I-80 was closed this morning but is now reopen.
All mountain passes have chain controls. Snow is going to continue falling through tonight into Monday morning. Snow could be seen at 5000 feet, overnight tonight in Reno. We do get cold enough to potentially see some flurries. But not much… if any is going to stick on the valley floor. But… you’re going to want to be mindful of icy roads for your morning commute.
The national weather service sent out a storm report this morning, showing totals of 25 inches of snow at Mammoth Mountain, 21 inches of snow at Palisades, 12 inches of snow at Incline Village, and potentially 5 inches of snow in eastern Truckee…
