BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Common Council member and Majority Leader Leah Halton-Pope will replace Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes on the November ballot as a new New York State Assembly candidate, the Erie County Democratic Committee said Sunday.
The announcement comes after Peoples-Stokes said she will not seek re-election in the fall to take care of her health and spend more time with family.
