DOVER — The Delaware Academy of Ophthalmology and Delaware Optometric Association will hold a Statewide Diabetic Eye Screening Day at four locations April 25 to help detect diabetic retinopathy and prevent vision loss.
Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in middle-age people in the United States and one in four Americans is diabetic or pre-diabetic, said Dr. Paula Ko, president of the Delaware Academy of Ophthalmology.
