Mass. weather: This week’s forecast, broken down with each day’s outlook

Massachusetts is set to get a taste of summer this coming week as temperatures rise into the 70s and 80s across most of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a chance of showers Sunday night as temperatures drop into the low to mid 40s. The rain is expected to begin between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday, but wrap up by 5 a.m. Monday.

Monday

Monday is predicted to be mostly cloudy and windy, with gusts up to 40 mph along the coast and gusts up to 30 mph everywhere else. There is a chance of rain in the afternoon between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Highs on Monday are expected to reach the upper 60s and low 70s, except on the South Coast, Cape and Islands, where temperatures are predicted to stay in the mid 50s. Overnight lows are expected to dip into the mid to high 50s, except on the South Coast, Cape and Islands, where they are predicted to be about 10 degrees cooler.

Tuesday

Mostly sunny skies are expected on Tuesday amid highs in the mid to upper 70s. The Connecticut River Valley could see temperatures reach the 80s, while highs on the South Coast, Cape and Islands should at least make it into the mid 60s…
