Patience will be key this week for any drivers grabbing a late-night meal or drink on the Far Northside of San Antonio. Major progress on the revamp of Loop 1604 and I-10 calls for big time closures as well, and one popular shopping destination is going to see the impacts again.
Part of the $1.4 billion project to improve Loop 1604 – transforming it into a 10-lane highway reconfiguring the I-10 intersection into an overwhelming stack of connector ramps – entails making improvements to I-10 near The RIM and The Shops at La Cantera. This means the entire intersection at La Cantera Parkway and I-10 will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, April 17.
“As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will require closures for bridge construction” the Texas Department of Transportation warns, noting even the U-turns on either side of the intersection will be closed as well…
