Two escaped Christian County inmates captured following multi-county pursuit, carjacking

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEVV) — Two inmates who walked away from a work detail at the Christian County Detention Center are back in custody after a carjacking and a high-speed pursuit through four counties.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 was notified Saturday of an assault and carjacking at the Family Dollar/Dollar Tree in Crofton. Dispatchers informed troopers that the suspects matched the descriptions of two inmates who had escaped shortly before the incident.

Troopers located the stolen vehicle on the Western Kentucky Parkway near the 60 mile-marker. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, leading police on a chase through Muhlenberg, Ohio, and Grayson counties.
