STOCKTON, Calif. — A U.S. Air Force pilot from Stockton who was declared missing during World War II has now been officially accounted for decades later.
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced that 2nd Lt. Donald L. Durand, 25, was accounted for on July 28, 2025. His family has since received a full briefing, allowing additional details about the case to be released.
Durand was assigned to the 77th Fighter Squadron, 20th Fighter Group, and was piloting a P-38 “Lightning” aircraft during World War II…
