CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — The man accused of hitting and killing a man known to the community as “Flag Man” was indicted Wednesday, almost a year after the incident.
Byron Reedy is accused of veering onto the shoulder and into the median with his Dodge Ram and striking bicyclist Larry Haywood on April 9, 2025. Reedy allegedly left the scene, and Haywood died from his injuries. The collision took place at Skidaway Road and E. 49th Street.
Reedy was indicted on charges of homicide by vehicle in the first degree, serious injury by vehicle, driving without insurace, driving without a tag, driving with a suspended license and affixing a license plate to conceal or misrepresent identity.
