The Dixmoor village board’s meeting on March 26 highlighted urgency on multiple fronts, from time-sensitive development funding to stricter enforcement policies and a divided vote on local business operations. John Thompson, the village’s economic development director, reported that a $112,000 rehabilitation project is ready to move forward once asphalt plants reopen, but emphasized a far greater concern tied to a larger community development initiative.
“The grant is at a term now that we’re on a short time frame,” he said. “We’re going to have to move really quick on this; it’s a lot of money that we cannot afford to lose.”…
