Chris and Karen Orendain became interested in the Bent Tree neighborhood after visiting Chris’ parents, who were living there. They found a house to remodel and loved the entire process, largely due to working with a great contractor, Mark Sharp. After a few years, a Realtor they had worked with told them about a home on the golf course that had just hit the market.

“It was a Spanish Mediterranean with a courtyard in the middle of the house,” Chris said. Karen loved it, but it was not at all to Chris’ taste. However, they wanted to be on the golf course.

Chris grew up with an architect father, understood construction, and had definitely caught the remodeling bug. In addition to their existing home, they’d invested in multiple single-family rental properties and redone all of those. This Bent Tree house actually turned into a fun family project…
