TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (TRIBUNE) — Mayor Ben Short stated publicly Friday, April 12, that he has applied for federal funding through U.S. Sen. Katie Britt’s office for a Highway 11 traffic project he believes could ease congestion between the bridge adjacent to Cherokee Drive and the section of road leading to Publix on the eastern side of Trussville.
Short described that stretch as the worst bottleneck along the corridor. “Highway 11, the worst section of it, in my opinion, starts at the Cherokee Bridge and leads up to Publix,” he said. “That’s where everything bogs down.”…
