Lehigh Tunnel crash: 2 hurt in wrong-way collision on Pa. Turnpike, cops say

Two people were hurt Sunday evening in a three-car collision near the Lehigh Tunnel in Carbon County.

Pennsylvania State Police Cpl. Richard Levan, public information officer for Troop T, told lehighvalleylive.com the collision happened just after 7:30 p.m. along the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s Northeast Extension, at mile marker 71.7 in East Penn Township.

It began when a 33-year-old male driver from New York exited the Lehigh Tunnel while traveling north, crossed over into the southbound lanes and clipped another car in the opposite direction, Levan said…
