Woman pleads guilty to charges related to criminal informant murder attempt

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A woman pleaded guilty to charges related to a murder attempt on a criminal informant that involved two other people.

Redena Hire, 54, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to dealing a schedule 1 controlled substance, a level 2 felony, and assisting a criminal, a level 5 felony. Hire now potentially faces no more than 10 years in prison, depending on her sentencing scheduled on May 29.

Hire and 20-year-old Alexis Drake were both initially charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, a Level 2 Felony, and Assisting a Criminal, a Level 5 Felony, for their roles in assisting Jason Bridges, who was found guilty by jury on March 27. Bridges employed the women’s help to murder the confidential informant who helped police arrest Bridges for multiple drug-related charges.
