Lithium-ion battery explosion may have caused structure fire, officials say

(FOX40.COM) — A lithium-ion battery explosion may have caused a commercial fire in Rancho Cordova on Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said.

Firefighters arrived at the fire in the 3200 block of Monier Circle around 2:12 p.m. to find smoke coming from inside the building. They entered the building and quickly contained the fire, Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials said.
