EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man was arrested after deputies stopped a vehicle that allegedly drove through a red light and made an illegal turn in Far East El Paso County on Friday, April 10.
At around 10:45 p.m., deputies detected an odor of alcohol coming from 25-year-old Jon Christian Orozco during a traffic stop near the intersection of Eastlake Boulevard and Rojas Drive, and placed him under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
Sheriff’s officials stated that Orozco claimed he was affiliated with a criminal cartel and threatened deputies and their families. Orozco reportedly continued making statements he would locate and harm law enforcement personnel.
