MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) –First Alert Day Tonight, Wednesday, and Friday…
A significant severe weather event is expected this afternoon and evening, with peak intensity between 3–10 PM. Conditions strongly favor supercell thunderstorms capable of producing very large hail (larger than golf balls), tornadoes, and damaging winds. Some storms may become particularly intense, so it is important to stay alert and be ready to take shelter quickly if warnings are issued.
What’s Coming Up…
Additional storms are possible Wednesday, depending on where a frontal boundary sets up. Even if the severe threat decreases, heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding, especially if storms repeatedly move over the same areas. Flooding concerns may continue into midweek, and additional Flood Watches could be needed.
