Earlier this week, Las Palapas closed its Callaghan Road location to make way for some improvements after a car crash damaged the restaurant. On Tuesday, April 14, the San Antonio Tex-Mex chain posted about the temporary closure on social media while taking its online followers on a trip down memory lane.
Las Palapas shared some nostalgic musings about its Callaghan Road location in a Facebook post that simultaneously acknowledged the restoration efforts being put towards the restaurant. The post also acknowledged the business’s resilience, mentioning that it was back up and running hours after a car drove into it.
“Callaghan has been feeding this city since the early days of Las Palapas, and it was going to take a whole lot more than a car through the front door to shut her down,” Las Palapas wrote in the post. “But here’s the thing. She’s one of our oldest stores, and she’s earned a real refresh. So we’re doing it now, on our terms.”
The local taco chain implored customers to share their memories of the Callaghan location, hinting at a throwback giveaway with details to come out at a later date…
