Police Probe Ruby Roses Sexual Assault Claim Against Katy Perry

Additional Coverage:

Victoria Police in Australia have confirmed they are investigating a historical sexual assault allegation made by actress Ruby Rose against singer Katy Perry. The inquiry centers on an incident Rose says occurred in 2010 at a licensed venue in Melbourne’s central business district.

Rose, now 40, shared on social media that the alleged assault happened when she was in her early 20s, nearly two decades ago. She expressed gratitude for having found the courage to speak out after so many years and indicated she intended to pursue a police investigation into her experience.

In response, Perry’s representatives have strongly denied the accusations, describing them as “categorically false” and “reckless lies.” They highlighted Rose’s history of making serious allegations against others, which have previously been denied by those involved.

Victoria Police stated that detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are actively looking into the matter but declined to provide further details as the investigation is ongoing.

This latest development follows Rose’s previous public allegations of workplace misconduct during her time on the CW series “Batwoman,” which Warner Bros. disputed, citing multiple complaints about her behavior.

The investigation remains open as authorities continue to gather information. Both parties have yet to provide additional public comments on the matter.
