A Tampa woman was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after colliding with another vehicle on U.S. 301.
A deputy responded to a crash involving 24-year-old Dorianis Ortiz Santana at the intersection of U.S. 301 and County Road 738 in Bushnell around 5:20 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
The other driver advised that she was headed south on U.S. 301 in a silver Toyota Camry. As she approached County Road 673, she saw a white Ram pickup truck enter the intersection and collide its front bumper into her passenger-side doors, the report said.
Other deputies on scene suspected Ortiz Santana was drunk due to the smell of alcohol on her person, her bloodshot glossy eyes and her slurred speech. So, the newly on-scene deputy went to interview her, the report said…
