Wickliffe mother arraigned on reckless homicide, child endangerment charges in infant son’s 2023 death

PAINESVILLE, Ohio — A Wickliffe woman appeared in the Lake County Court of Common Pleas Tuesday following her arrest last week in connection to the 2023 death of her 2-month-old son.

Krystal Krause, 41, was indicted April 7 by a grand jury on two felony counts: reckless homicide and child endangerment. She was taken into custody a day later.

The incident at the center of the case took place on Nov. 15, 2023, when Wickliffe police were called to a home on Ridge Road for reports of an unresponsive child. According to police, officers found a 2-month-old boy, who was later pronounced dead.
